March 2010 Duplicates Lottery begins now.
DEADLINE is Mon/March 22, 2010 6pm(EST)
It doesn't matter if you send your list... now or at the last minute. Upon receipt, each list is assigned a two-digit number plus the initials of the collector. Like so... 01cc, 02bk, 03tz. Andy Balbus suggested using a ( random generator) to shuffle the lists. It has worked well in previous lotteries and I will implement it again. The code names will be pasted into the randomizer and shuffled twice for good measure for the first run and each consecutive run. Any pens remaining will be re-posted ASAP after the dust settles.
Your success will depend on... how many people participate and how many pens are on the wish lists. Collectors should prepare their lists with the most desirable pens at the top. Knowing the majority of duplicates are singles and the most popular designs will sell first, your wish list should begin with the pens you desire most. The more pens on your list, the more likely you are to get something out of all of this. Wish lists that are received after deadline will NOT be included in the lottery, but they will not be ignored. Before I post left-over Duplicates, I will process lists from any/all late-comers. Since the pens are listed individually I will not have any trouble keeping track, but it will obviously require time to process. I will notify each participant via email as soon as possible. It is a long and tedious process.
If you are on a limited budget... please establish your limit in advance. If you ask for 20 pens, but want to limit your final tally to no more than 10 pens... that is AOK. If and when I reach your 10 pen limit, I will stop and set your list aside. Or, you can set a dollar limit. Just specify your limits when you submit your wish list.
Things you need to know before... you submit your list. Many of these pens are not just Duplicates, they are from my personal collection. If there are flaws, of ANY kind, it is mentioned in the text below the pen. Read the descriptions carefully. The majority of the designs are available in quantities of 1-2. There are a few designs come in the classic AND t&c style. Specify your preference. If you will take either one.... express that in your order. A couple of the Disney designs are available in quantities of 6-8, but not all of them. They are $7-$8 because Disney has not created a float pen for many years and if Disney should ever come back, their new designs would be digital. This is an opportunity for you to fill in your collection with photoramics at a reasonable price. The lottery rules/deadlines do NOT apply to pens outside of the Duplicates Category.
The lottery affords everyone... plenty of time to compose their lists. I do have one big favor to ask. Do not submit your list until it is ready. Changes will only serve to complicate everything! And with that I wish you the BEST of luck!!!! If I can get your list filled... I will be so happy!
Your floaty friend...
Diana
PS... As always, be sure to include 'float pens' or 'floaty pens' in the subject line. 98% of my incoming email is pure junk. Using 'floaty'in the subject line will get my attention.
This is a direct link to the... Duplicates Category - Part 1. It's a long list with over a hundred photos, so it may take a few minutes to load. Your patience will be rewarded.
